More Image Gallery Updates
It's coming along nicely now. The demo here on the blog is an earlier incarnation of the script, and so it's a bit slower, and doesn't have all the goodies of the latest one. Not only will you be able to instantly add galleries, you'll be able to edit the captions, descriptions and displayed image names all online, using a Gallery Manager. All you need is correct permissions to your gallery folders and you can do it all online. Wam, bam, thank you ma'am, wonderful XML.
As soon as I have someone moderately sane look at the code, I'll get a good demo up with the gallery manager included so you can all make lewd comments on the pictures.

Thinking about it. Depends on how licensing someone else's upload component works...Jeff wrote on 01/13/03 8:45 AM
what about using one of the pure ASP upload functions? There are a number of them around the ASP code sites. I haven't tried them yet but that'd be nicer than a component, particularly on webhosts that don't let you add components.Daniel Short wrote on 01/13/03 8:45 AM
That's the goal, but I have to check on licensing restrictions and such since it will be released with a commercial extension. Since I already have an Image Manager product, I might just point people to either that or Pure ASP Upload itself.

Will it also have an upload function to create new dirs and upload files? That would seem easy enough to add, and a lot nicer than having to separately use ftp (easier to teach clients how to manage ;-)
