Examples of good Customer Service
I've been using Dell computers for ages, and have always been happy with the products and services they provide. I got a letter today that makes me even more confident in their ability to take care of their customers.
Dear Sir or Madam:
Our records indicate that you may not have received your Dell Financial Services monthly billing statements since you changed your billing address on our web site. This was the result of a systems error. Dell Financial Services has taken steps to ensure your account has the same status as it did prior to your change of address.
A payment will not be required for any month in which you did not receive a billing statement. We have waived all finance charges, late fees, and phone pay fees incurred since the address change. Aditionally, any applicable delinquency status and reporting has been revised to reflect your status prior to your change of address. These changes should appear on your next monthly billing statement. If you find any fee or charge associated with this error on your next monthly billing statement, please contact our Customer Care group so we may promptly address any issues.
Changes to ensure that this issue does not happen again have been implemented by Dell Financial Services this week. Your business and patronage of Dell Financial Services and Dell, Inc. are very important to us. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Yes, I know it's a form letter, but the fact that they owned up to the mistake (they could have said it just got lost in forwarding) and made the effort to remove any penalty charges really gives me a warm fuzzy :)
Free Mini Mac Experiment Update
Well so far so good... I've been signed up for the Free Mini Mac site for a week, and so far no spam :). I signed up with a throwaway account just in case, but hopefully I stay spam free. Still don't have enough people to get me a free Mac though :).
Dan Update and Free Mac Mini Experiment
Hi everyone. I just thought I should let you all know that I am indeed still alive. It's been a crazy couple of months. Here's a quick rundown of what's been going on in the life of Dan over the last few months:
- Got divorced
- Released Cartweaver ASP
- Attended MAX 2004
- Landed several large contracts (woot!)
- Moved to southern California
- Dealt with flooding conditions
- Sweated through 85 degree heat in January
- Got my Axim stolen out of my car 2 weeks after moving to SoCal (WELCOME!)
- Got butchered by a barber today (can you say cue ball? I can...)
- Back to cold weather...
- Continuing to march on...
So that's what I'm doing. I'm hoping to get more on here in teh next few months. I've been doign lots of CF development, and hope to finally start offering some hints/tips/etc regarding CF and CFCs (my new favorite watchacallit).
I also decided that I wanted to try one of those damned "Free [insert product here]" scams to see if it really works. So, I signed up for a Free Mac Mini. I signed up with a specific email address to find out if I get spam and more scams via the email I provided, and I'll get things updated here as I go. So, if you're interested :), just sign up to get your own free Mac Mini (you have to refer 10 people to do it) and we'll see if I actually get one in the mail...
