Dan Update and Free Mac Mini Experiment

Hi everyone. I just thought I should let you all know that I am indeed still alive. It's been a crazy couple of months. Here's a quick rundown of what's been going on in the life of Dan over the last few months:

  1. Got divorced
  2. Released Cartweaver ASP
  3. Attended MAX 2004
  4. Landed several large contracts (woot!)
  5. Moved to southern California
  6. Dealt with flooding conditions
  7. Sweated through 85 degree heat in January
  8. Got my Axim stolen out of my car 2 weeks after moving to SoCal (WELCOME!)
  9. Got butchered by a barber today (can you say cue ball? I can...)
  10. Back to cold weather...
  11. Continuing to march on...

So that's what I'm doing. I'm hoping to get more on here in teh next few months. I've been doign lots of CF development, and hope to finally start offering some hints/tips/etc regarding CF and CFCs (my new favorite watchacallit).

I also decided that I wanted to try one of those damned "Free [insert product here]" scams to see if it really works. So, I signed up for a Free Mac Mini. I signed up with a specific email address to find out if I get spam and more scams via the email I provided, and I'll get things updated here as I go. So, if you're interested :), just sign up to get your own free Mac Mini (you have to refer 10 people to do it) and we'll see if I actually get one in the mail...

If Statement Goodness

If you like If statements in ASP VBScript as much as I do (and really, who doesn't?), then you need DWfaq's Custom Conditional Region. It tacks a comment on the end of your If and End If statements allowing them to be rendered in Dreamweaver's Design view. The comments also help you peg down what End Ifs go with which Ifs. I used CCR to write all of the conditional logic for the front page of the blog, and figured I'd show you how well it works.

So buy one, it's good for you...
